Nicole Lako, LMFT and Maryellen Mullin, LMFT are excited to facilitate a workshop for expectant and “new” parents called Bringing Baby Home (BBH), a Gottman Institute program. They are both certified BBH educators and currently offer this workshop ONLINE due to the Coronavirus.

This is a research-based workshop that teaches couples skills to navigate their relationship and support around what to expect with baby! It is a dyadic workshop, meaning you engage with your partner in all activities to practice and gain new skills and tools.

This workshop is 12+ hours of content, supporting a couple’s relationship, their communication, their conflict management skills and educating about what to expect with baby’s development. The research supporting the interventions offered in this workshop are solid, from years of longitudinal research at Gottman Institute following new parents! The research supports that this workshop offers couples specific skills to maintain a higher level of relationship satisfaction after becoming parents. Parents will learn research-based skills that strengthen their relationship, as well as, support a newborn baby’s development during this wonderfully challenging time. Here are some examples:

Strengthen your couple and parenting relationship
Improve couple communication
Navigate conflict
Learn how to connect as a couple and family
Recognize emotions in baby and what baby is communicating
How to keep intimacy and passion going post-baby’s birth
How to cope with baby blues and identify post partum depression
Explore the important roles of mothers and fathers
